Lead Pastor | email
Since joining Harmony Springs in December of 2012 Pastor Joel has led the church through physical and organizational change. Joel has overseen the development of Harmony Springs Centre, a non-profit community center and soon-to-be home of the church.
Joel has led Harmony Springs through a multi-year visioning process that has moved the church to look beyond passivity to proactive welcome and inclusion for spiritual refugees. Pastor Joel is excited to lead a church dedicated to authentic community, meaningful spirituality, and loving action.
Born and raised a Northeast Ohio Cleveland sports fan, Joel knows the grit and determination found here! He has been married to Emily since 2005 and together parent 3 boys and 1 girl - a big family! They have a golden doodle named Bella who loves to go on rides. He and his family enjoy camping with their pop-up and travel.
Joel and Emily have been licensed foster parents since 2010 and now drive a 12 passenger van - yes like the Amish haulers but less Amishy and more 'my other car is a hybrid.'
Joel enjoys checking out new local breweries, wine tasting in Geneva, and downing a Bario taco at a Cleveland baseball game.

Everybody loves and counts on Wally at Harmony Springs. Wally is always happy to pitch in by setting up tables or sound equipment. Wally leds our setup and tear down team at Harmony Springs but his responsibilities go far beyond that.
You'll find Wally on Sunday mornings buzzing around brewing coffee, setting up our sound system, moving chairs around and enjoying catching up with all of us.
We joking call him our Wally-of-All-Trades because if you need to know where something is, get something fixed, or a task done - he's the go-to.
Wally has helped see Harmony Springs through meeting in temporary spaces and enjoys making sure everything runs smoothly.

She also loves all kinds of animals and has several different types of pets. Kristy enjoys traveling, exploring our amazing local geology, reading, writing, and learning about anything and everything.
Kristy has had a lifelong love of environmental science since her days as a girl scout and she earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Kent State University in 2018.
