Harmony Springs is proud to support those seeking to expand their educational experiences and have been blessed by members who have left endowments to fulfill this desire. Harmony Springs Church is awarding educational scholarships for 2016-17 school year. The scholarships are open to all active participants, members and family members of Harmony Springs. The Application period begins today, June 1 and ends June 30. Scholarship recipients will be notified mid-July and presented with the award in worship on July 31. Scholarship Eligibility criteria:
-Must submit application to the church on or before June 30, 2016.
- The scholarship award committee considers participation at Harmony Springs, financial need and attempts to match awards with scholarship benefactor criteria and/or wishes.
Disbursement Information:
-Applicants will be notified before July 31.
-Recipients will be invited to receive scholarship award in worship on July 31, 2016.
- Recipients will receive a check from the church in the amount awarded. The average scholarship amount has been under $250 per academic year, but the actual amount is variable based on number of applicants and interest the scholarship accounts earn yearly.
Throughout the years a number of funds have been established to support academic scholarships. The funds and their donors are described below:
All Scholarship funds have been designed for the principle to remain intact, but the interest to be used for educational purposes.
The Evelyn Simmons Scholarship was established in 1985.
The Michael Came Scholarship was established in 1995.
The Dean Grinstead Scholarship was established in 1996.
The Paul Baird Scholarship
was established in 2003.
